dc.description.abstract For electric utilities, power generation, electric power transmission, electricity distribution and electrical power storage are the essential stages .At first power is generated from different source .Then energy is moved from its place of generation to a location where it is applied to performing useful work. Power distribution is the final stage in the delivery of electricity to the end users. A distribution system’s network carries electricity from the transmission system and delivers it to consumers. Our project is mainly concerned with different types of distribution system. Different types of distribution system such as ac, dc distribution, and overhead and under grounded systems and also their classifications are discussed. The connection scheme, requirements and design conservation of a distribution system are briefly described here. Also attention is paid to power generation and power transmission that led to power distribution. Focus is also given to different modern techniques of power distribution. en_US
